A retired Bronx artist recently had his first gallery at the Huntington Library in Westchester Square.
Donald Gilligan put painting on hold 40 years ago to work and spend time with his family, but now has returned to his passion. He says this is the first time his paintings have been shown in public.
"Really this is my coming out party," Gilligan says. "Anybody who has seen any of my paintings, it's been members of my family."
Gilligan says he mostly paints landscapes and ocean views of City Island.
