Revel, an electric moped sharing company, is expanding its service area into the South Bronx and is letting health care riders use them for free.

Riders can download the app and sign up for $5. It costs $1 to start a Revel ride and 31 cents for every minute after.

Revel's CEO Frank Reig says health care workers can use the mopeds for free. Revel started in Brooklyn with 70 dockless electric mopeds and expanded into Manhattan about a month ago.

It then expanded to South Bronx last week and has more than 100,000 riders across the city.

Reig says the new service areas cover health care workers who live and work in South Bronx, Mott Haven, Hunts Point and Upper Manhattan.

The free services are available to employees of any health care provider by simply showing proof of their employment.

Revel says it wants to expand services throughout all of the Bronx. It is also now in Queens and has close to 2,000 health care workers signed up across the city.

The company also offers an equity program for anyone on public assistance, which is 40% off all rides.
