Today is an iconic day in cinematic lore.
Oct. 21, 2015 is the day Marty McFly travels to in "Back to the Future Part II." The movie made several predictions about life in 2015, some of which have nearly come true.
While Pepsi doesn't sell a product called Pepsi Perfect, it is releasing collectable bottles to commemorate the occasion.
People aren't driving around in flying cars, but Lyft is teaming up with Verizon for "Why not Wednesday." Lyft will provide free 15-minute rides in a DeLorean from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday in Manhattan when customers request a ride in "McFly mode."
The movie also predicted that the Chicago Cubs would win the World Series, their first title since 1908. The Cubs have advanced to the NLCS in this year's MLB playoffs, but are currently down 3-0 in their series with the New York Mets.
Universal Pictures released a trailer for "Jaws 19," but it was just an advertisement for the fake sequel feature in the movie.
Variations have also been made of the iconic hover boards, but they don't get off the ground like the ones ridden in the movie.
