The nonprofit group “Rocking the Boat” is celebrated the 14th annual City of Water Day Saturday by teaching residents about sailing, rowing and even building their own boats.
Since 1998, Rocking the Boat has helped young people learn about the importance of protecting waterways.
The group held virtual programming during the pandemic, but participants and staff say it's refreshing to be back together in person.
The program offers students free classes. There is also a social work program that helps children apply the skills they learn to college and the workforce.
