Utility companies are preparing for power outages in the Hudson Valley. 

NYSEG, which powers much of the Empire State, sent crews out across New York to prepare for any outages. Orange & Rockland and Central Hudson each brought in 50 extra people to help respond to outages.

If an outage does occur, it's important to know that the utilities serve the largest customer outage areas and prioritize hospitals and emergency personnel first.

Make sure to keep the phone number of your utility handy in case you experience an outage.
