A Roslyn physician has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual offense during a 2025 medical appointment, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said Dr. Mark Hoffman, 71, had unwanted sexual contact with a 48-year-old woman during an oncology visit at Optum Hematology Oncology on May 9, 2025. The two were alone in an exam room at the time.

A spokesperson for Optum Hematology Oncology told News 12 that Hoffman has not been employed with Optum Medical Care since last summer.

Hoffman was arrested March 5, 2026, and is charged with second-degree sexual abuse and forcible touching. He is set to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Authorities ask anyone who believes they may be a victim to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or the Special Victims Squad at 516-573-4022.
