Runners raise money for cancer research at 13th annual Damon Runyon 5K
Over 1,000 runners joined the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation during the 13th annual Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

9h agoOver 1,000 runners joined the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation during the 13th annual Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.
The race gives people a chance to run in support of someone they know who has been affected by cancer or if they themselves have been affected.
Danielle Correia, a participant in Saturday’s race, says she ran for her father, who died from stage 4 lung cancer 10 years ago – and for herself. She has had cervical cancer twice.
"I went through chemo. I battled it. I'm a survivor thankfully. I know people who aren't so lucky, but I am one of the lucky ones, “ said Correia.
All of the funds raised will go directly to supporting innovative cancer research.
