The Ryder Cup is drawing big crowds at Bethpage Black but the excitement isn't just on the course.

B.K. Sweeny's Parkside Tavern transformed into "Chippo-palooza" this weekend, shutting down the block for a Ryder Cup watch party.

“This really is great to show of what Bethpage is all about. It’s a great community. It wouldn’t be possible without all of them. And just happy to be a part of it," said tavern owner John Coutmatos.

Fans packed the street to cheer on Team USA, while two visitors from Ireland, who have attended Ryder Cups in Paris and Rome, said this year's event in New York tops them all.

"We were expecting hostility, but we didn't get it on the course yesterday. Very friendly and very easy to talk to. We're loving the weekend here so far," said Anthony Twiss.

Festivities will continue throughout the weekend as the Ryder Cup continues through Sunday.
