The New York City Sanitation Department released a statement Wednesday saying its collection services are ongoing amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The department advised New York City residents to follow their normal collection schedule.

Residents should put items curbside between 4 p.m. to midnight the evening before pickup day.
The department says services that are currently suspended are food scrap drop-off and apartment and curbside e-waste.
