A heat advisory remains in effect for New York City as hot temperatures and high humidity grip the region.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory for the region through 8 p.m. Wednesday. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the Bronx through 4:30 p.m.
There is a chance for some scattered thundershowers Wednesday evening with the temperature around 75 degrees.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of a thunderstorm. The temperature will be around 88 degrees.
