Julia is captain of the track and volleyball teams. She leaves high school with two volleyball county championships and a Long Island championship. In track, she helped Sayville win two county titles. She also earned All-County and All-League honors as a shot putter & discus thrower.
She created the Health Occupations Students of America chapter in her school. She's also part of the R.I.S.E program which stands for Research In Science & Engineering.
For two years, she's worked on a project looking at ways to grow cells on a flexible 3-D printed human, so that the model moves and beats like a real heart.
Julia is also the Honor Society treasurer and serves as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee secretary.
She also plays multiple instruments and joined the chorus for her senior year. She is also an ocean lifeguard at Smith Point Beach.
