Now, the question I have about the mayor is that the weather down in DC, a warmer than the weather here because it's got to be at least a little bit better. It is a little bit warmer in DC. But you know, we are dealing with that really cold pocket of air that is taking us just for one more day. But we are going to turn our eyes for the weekend an early look for what are some potential impacts for this storm. So some thunderstorms in December, that's what is possible for Sunday evening into Monday, steady rain isolated flooding high winds of 40 MPH or even stronger that can knock down some decorations even cause some scattered power outages and then temperatures start to crash. So we're forecasting a high of 61 on Sunday by Monday night. It's going to be in the 30. So that's something that we need to monitor in terms of tomorrow. Another very cold start, temperatures will be near 29 feeling much colder than that high. Tomorrow will be in the low forties, feeling like the mid thirties throughout the day. A few flurries possible by the early afternoon drying out and clouds clearing out by Friday. Seeing more of that sunshine seasonable fill with highs in the upper forties. Saturday will actually be the pick of the week. We're going to see that beautiful sunshine highs in the mid fifties and then we're watching for some stormy weather on Sunday.

Scholar Athlete: Paola De La Cruz

As a senior and a leader for the successful Fannie Lou Hamer high school girls volleyball team. Our latest scholar athlete has worked hard to improve herself on the court and in the classroom, Paula de La Cruz gets the spotlight in this week's scholar athlete presented by East Chester Chrysler. Jeep Dodge Ram. It was the fall of 2021 and Paula de La Cruz was about to begin her first school year in America at Fannie Lou Hamer High school. It was hard at first because, you know, new school, new culture, new people. So I was scared having just arrived from the Dominican Republic. One thing that had Paula excited was volleyball in the I, I don't, I didn't really have like the resources to do that to be in, in a real team. So I was excited for that. She previously played the sport, but just as a hobby, Paulla admits she got a little bit of a push from her mom, but quickly she proved to be right at home on the volleyball court. She just knows how to play, run the court where she's just also hitting, attacking, blocking and she just runs the court where her team knows how to follow her as her talents on the volleyball court expanded. So did her role on the team. She's now a captain. I'm usually a quiet person, but when it comes to the court, I like to make sure everybody is good, you know, um supporting them, the team is undefeated in league play thus far this season in the classroom. Pala says her favorite subject is history and she wants to study political science in college. Eventually looking to a career in law. I like learning about the past to make, to try to make the future better. It's extremely rare and I think she's one of the special kinds.
