Sean 'Diddy' Combs writes letter to judge ahead of sentencing
Sean 'Diddy' Combs penned a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian before his Oct. 3 sentencing.
In the letter, Combs apologizes for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
"The scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily. I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I'm sorry for that and always will be,” Combs wrote.
Combs has been acquitted on one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion - all of which have a maximum sentence of life in prison.
However, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation for purposes of prostitution, each with a maximum life sentence of 10 years.
Later in the letter, Combs asks for mercy for the sake of his seven children.
"More than anything, I just want the opportunity to return home and be the father that they need and deserve,” Combs wrote.
He also mentions how his time in jail has changed him due to being surrounded by drugs and violence.
Combs is being held without bail ahead of his sentencing. He could face up to 20 years in prison.
"Today, I humbly ask you for another chance—another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life,” Combs wrote.
