A group of older New Yorkers marched in Midwood to honor the country of Israel.
The march took place down East 10th Street, and for many of these seniors, Israel is a place that they hold dearly in their hearts.
"There are many centuries and history where they chased us from place to place but we're still here," said resident Rose Atler.
Many of today's marchers are residents at Ateret Avot Senior Living, and for the past 12 years the senior home has celebrated what it means to be Jewish by parading through the facility and down the block, showing off their flags and singing songs from their childhood.
"The Jewish people try our best we can... I love it here and I do whatever I can," said resident Batsheva Mozes.
Some say the parade was more than just a cheers, but rather an opportunity to salute the land that made them who they are.
