Bronx residents are back shopping at the Kings Plaza Mall weeks after its reopening.
Officials say despite the pandemic, the changes they've made are working to make people feel comfortable when they shop.
"We made sure that we are meticulous about what we did," says the mall's senior marketing manager Dawn Simon. "We followed the guidelines to a tee, we made sure that everything was in place so that when we opened we would make this a better environment for our shoppers."
Business owners inside the mall say they are excited to be back open.
Kim Capone Gallagher, who works at The Cookie House, says business is thriving.
"We missed our customers very, very much," Gallagher says. "We have a very loyal following."
Shoppers say they feel safe as stores are checking to make sure everyone has a mask on and sanitizing stations are available at the mall.
Most stores are not allowing people to try on clothes.
Mall officials say they will continue to enforce safety measures and operate at the recommended capacity even when the holiday season comes around.
