The New York City Football Club played its first official home match Sunday at Yankee Stadium, but the impact the new franchise will have on local businesses might be as big as the game itself.
Bars, restaurants and shops on Grand Concourse were packed Sunday afternoon with fans from the Bronx and all five boroughs.
Merchants were already selling out of the team's merchandise.
Vendors are hoping soccer fans will keep supporting the team -- and their businesses -- for years to come.
