Flipper's is a family-operated roller skating rink bringing the skate culture to New York at the legendary spot recognized as a winter wonderland.
The world-renowned skating rink got its start in California in the late 1970s, but now anybody can lace up and get to skating in the Big Apple.
Flipper's is open to all ages and all skills levels. They offer safety gear such as helmets, wrist guards, kneepads and elbow pads.
Skate instructors are also on site to teach visitors the basics, along with a few tricks.
"You can learn a heel toe. A heel toe spin. You can learn the crazy legs. So, there's a lot of different moves that you can learn with us," says skate instructor Aysha Williams.
Flipper's is open Monday through Friday.
