Transportation Security Administration officials say travelers will face security delays at Newark Liberty International Airport because of construction inside Terminal A.
One third of the security checkpoints have been closed in the A1 concourse amid the renovations.
The construction will likely mean longer wait times during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday at the remaining checkpoints in the A2 and A3 concourses. The greatest impact is for passengers flying on Air Canada, JetBlue, Alaska Airlines and American Airlines.
TSA officials say passengers are urged to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights.
The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
