3h agoThe mother of Brandon Hendricks, a 17-year-old who was fatally shot just days after graduating high school, says that new delays in her son's case are becoming too much to bear.
"Something has to be done," said Eve Hendricks, whose son died in summer of 2020. "You can't just have criminals going on and killing people."
Najhim Luke is accused of firing the fatal shot into a barbecue on June 28 of that year.
Hendricks may not have been the intended target, but the gathering was being held in celebration of his academic achievement.
Since then, Eve has attended every one of Luke's criminal proceedings. His attorney, who is the fourth public defender to be assigned his case, asked for Luke's case to be delayed again on Friday.
"We are sick and tired of going and not getting no form of justice for my son," Eve lamented.
Luke is due back in court June 2.
