Sources: State Sen. Brian Benjamin is Gov. Hochul's pick for lieutenant governor

Gov. Kathy Hochul has chosen state Sen. Brian Benjamin to be her lieutenant governor, according to sources.
The official announcement could come as early as Thursday.
The 44-year-old Democrat has represented a district covering Harlem, East Harlem and Manhattan's Upper West Side since 2017.
Sen. Benjamin currently serves as chair of the Senate's Budget and Revenue Committee and as senior assistant majority leader.
Hochul's office said in a press release that she will make an announcement with Benjamin on Thursday at 1 p.m. News 12 will have LIVE coverage.
