A thief swiped a cash register from a Dollar Tree store Tuesday then hijacked a cab as a getaway car, police sources say.
According to the sources, a man entered the store armed with a crowbar, ripped the cash register off of the counter and ran back out.
An employee followed him out of the store, but the thief allegedly used a gun to force the cab driver out of the car and used it to escape.
The store has since reopened.
The suspect remains at large.
