Mayor Eric Adams and the NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced the city's speed cameras will be on 24/7 starting on Aug. 1.
As of now, the city's 2,000 automated speed cameras only operate on weekdays, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Starting Aug. 1 of 2022, the cameras will be operating 24/7.
This comes after Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a legislation that expanded the use of New York City school zone speed cameras.
