One of the victims suffered serious injuries and required a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, according to police.

Both victims are expected to recover.

Police arrested 18-year-old Diego Huerta of South Spring Valley.

Investigators allege Huerta and several other unidentified suspects struck one of the victims in the head with a glass bottle before stabbing him with a sharp weapon.

Authorities say the attack happened in front of the victim’s three children and other family members.

Huerta is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault, second-degree assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.

Police say the victims and suspects do not appear to have known each other.
