Storefront Academy in Mott Haven opened its doors Tuesday to celebrate the upcoming school year.
The charter school held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome parents and students to the new school for kindergarteners and first-graders.
Classes begin on Wednesday for more than 100 eager students at the school.
A Bronx mother says she chose the new charter school to give her 5-year-old son a better education. She says he wasn't excelling at his neighborhood public school.
