Storm conditions are expected to cause air travel delays over the holiday weekend.
News 12’s Julio Avila was at John F. Kennedy International Airport getting a firsthand look at local travel.
With several hours remaining before the storm’s arrival, things seemed to be running smoothly at both JFK and LaGuardia Airport.
One family at JFK picking up relatives from India even said the flight arrived earlier.
"The flight was delayed out of Delhi airport for some reason, so we got lucky we got in on time. There were no other issues with the flight, everybody is good, it was a good flight," they said.
Airlines recommend those planning to fly or expecting arrivals to check with the airport about delays. Amtrak has recently reported systemwide delays, so travelers going by train should also check.
