Rain tapers today to a gusty afternoon and evening. Gusts will be near 25-30 mph as the sky clears. Temperatures will be mild, near 50 for the afternoon high. Sun begins to emerge by 2/3 p.m.
Gusty conditions continue into Valentine's Day with cold afternoon temperatures in the mid-30s. Thankfully, it will be a nice day with a mostly sunny sky. Although the morning is windy, the afternoon will be breezy with winds calming into the night.
Saturday starts cloudy with snow arriving for the afternoon and evening. Up to 2-4 inches of snow is expected in the northern areas for Saturday before changing over to rain into Sunday. Snow will make for challenging travel on Saturday evening especially.
The mixing occurs overnight and most places in New Jersey wake up to rain by Sunday morning, except for the northwestern areas that see a lag in the complete changeover. It could be slippery and icy there to start Sunday before eventually turning to rain. It rains lightly to moderately throughout Sunday before ending in the evening. A rumble of thunder is possible but not guaranteed. Next week's weather looks much quieter with a mix of sun and clouds and chilly temperatures.
