Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says Thursday night will bring showers that will become more widespread by midnight. Wind gusts may reach up to 50 mph.
NOW: Steadier pockets of rain arrive at around 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. with winds picking up. The worst of the storm will be after 11 p.m. through 4 a.m.
Strong gusty thunderstorms will bring the threat of localized flooding, downed tree limbs/branches and isolated power outages. Up to 1 inch of rainfall is expected.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect 9 p.m. through 2 a.m. tonight across the city. Minor flooding in the most vulnerable spots near the waterfront and shoreline.
Catch the Brooklyn forecast below:
The NWS has also issued a WIND ADVISORY for Brooklyn. Interestingly not for the Bronx, despite similar impacts. Timing is 2am to 8am for the advisory, although some stronger gusts are likely as soon as midnight.
TONIGHT - STORM WATCH: Scattered showers and downpours become more widespread around midnight. A few t-storms may be strong or severe with over 50 mph gusts, leading to isolated wind damage, especially closer to the water. Temps hover in the low 60s. Wind gusts pick up to 40-50 mph, possibly more in embedded thunderstorms.
TOMORROW: While t-storms end by 3-4am, lingering "popcorn" showers & downpours possible through early afternoon. Mostly dry, but still need the umbrellas to dodge the occasional downpours. Some sun late. Highs up to 66. Lows down to 49. Still breezy with 25-35 mph gusts.
SATURDAY: Chilly and still breezy. Lots of clouds, some peeks of sun. Can't rule out an isolated shower but it should be dry. Highs near 57. Gusts of 25-35 mph. Lows near 48.
SUNDAY: Sunny start, clouds move in by the evening. Much warmer feel. Highs surge to near-70. A few scattered showers possible at night. Lows near 55.
MON - WED: Wow! Back to the warmth. Lots of sun Monday & Tuesday before clouds and possibly a shower move in Tue night/Wed. Highs in the mid-upper 70s. Lows in the mid-upper 50s.
