ALERTS: WIND ADVISORY until 1 a.m. Saturday
FORECAST:
The active play of two fronts shapes our weather story in the Garden State today. First, a warm front, strong gusts from the south bring wind and heavy downpours early morning into the afternoon. Towards the late the morning, rumbles of thunder could be on the horizon, as a prelude to another front. A cold front arrives around 9 A.M.-10 a.m. shifting wind, pushing away rain eastward.
Dry, arctic air settles in with active winds from the west and north. Dramatic cold air "crashes" our temps to the freezing mark by 9 p.m. Feels-like temps hover 13-20 degrees.
Thankfully, the weekend "chills out" figuratively and literally, as we have sunshine and temps near 35.
TODAY & TONIGHT:
A nasty morning with wind-driven rain and a few thunderstorms. Cold front pushes across by 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Rain exits, cold settles in. West, northwest gusts near 30 – 40 mph. Clearing and sunshine return by 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Highs are early, 57-61 degrees. Temps fall throughout the day, lows near 27.
SATURDAY: Sunny, cold. Breezy. Highs near 35-41. Overnight lows near 29.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny. Highs near 47. Overnight lows near 30.
PS - There's a potential for a white Christmas.
