Feels-like temperatures tumble back down to the single digits overnight, and it will remain very cold most of the workweek. It will be "too cold to snow" once again later this week.
OVERNIGHT: The arctic air has made its return to the borough, with highs stuck in the 20s on Tuesday and feeling like no better than the teens. Lows will fall back down to the teens.
WEDNESDAY: Feels-like temperatures for the Wednesday morning commute could reach close to zero degrees. Make sure to be bundled up with the heavy-duty winter gear out the door. Gusts of 20 to 25 mph will contribute to the frigid feel. Highs will once again be stuck in the upper 20s Wednesday afternoon and again feel like the teens. There will be more clouds and less wind by the evening, as a major winter storm takes shape hundreds of miles south of us. The cold air will push the storm offshore, making it once again "too cold to snow" here.
THURSDAY: Lots of clouds continue Thursday, and while the storm's closest approach will be 150 miles away, there will be a slight chance for a passing snow shower or two between 3-8 p.m. That is from some leftover storm energy because of the cold. There will be scattered coatings at best, some neighborhoods will not see a single flake.
FRIDAY: Behind the storm, more cold, sunny and breezy weather remains across the borough with it feeling like the 20s on Friday. Luckily, a much-deserved warmup begins this weekend with the 40s returning on Sunday and a chance at 50 degrees this time next week.
