STORM WATCH: Rain and wind moving in for holiday travel in NYC

News 12 Storm Watch Team meteorologists are tracking wet weather that is expected to begin Tuesday afternoon and last through Wednesday morning - just in time for holiday traveling. News 12 will continue to monitor any changes in the forecast and its impacts on flights and roadways.

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Hope Osemwenkhae says a large storm system will bring pockets of heavy rain, gusty winds, and significant travel impacts beginning Tuesday afternoon through midday Wednesday.
Rainfall: 1 to 2 inches of rain with flooding downpours at night. Flooding is expected, possibly more significant as leaves cover drains and the ground is super dry.
Wind: Breezy with 15-20 mph gusts, becoming windy after the rain ends Saturday evening (20-30+ mph gusts).
A freeze warning is in effect for The Bronx only from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. tonight. A Frost Advisory could be issued for Brooklyn this afternoon.
Tonight: Increasing clouds, very cold and calm. Lows near 33.
Tuesday: STORM WATCH Mostly cloudy and chilly. PM windswept rain. Highs near 47. Lows near 46. 
Wednesday: STORM WATCHAM rain and wind. Gradual clearing, falling temps, and windy. Highs near 57. Lows near 40.
Thursday (THANKSGIVING): Sunny, chilly and less breezy. Highs near 49. Lows near 38. 
Friday (Black Friday): Mostly cloudy, chilly with the chance of late showers. Highs near 48. Lows near 37.
Saturday: Chance of showers, partly sunny, chilly and breezy. Highs near 47. Lows near 36.
Sunday: Mostly sunny and chilly. Highs near 46. Lows near 34.
