News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Hope Osemwenkhae says a big coastal storm will bring rain, snow, wintry mix and gusty winds Saturday afternoon into Sunday afternoon.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- This will be mostly rain and wintry mix with gusty winds. Once again, New York City is losing out on a big snowstorm, with only a trace likely in Brooklyn and closer to 1-2” in the Bronx.
- Another big storm system will bring periods of soaking rain and high winds Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Exact timing and impacts are still uncertain. We do know this will be an all rain and wind-driven storm.
Saturday (STORM WATCH): Cloudy start, chilly, and breezy. Precipitation to begin at around 3 p.m. May start as wintry mix with wet snow, likely to transition to heavy rain and finish off with light scattered snow showers. Highs near 39. Lows near 34.
Sunday: AM scattered snow showers. Mostly cloudy and windy. Highs near 37. Lows near 31.
Monday: Mostly sunny with a cold breeze. Highs near 42. Lows near 33.
Tuesday: (STORM WATCH) Cloudy, PM rounds of rain and breezy. Highs near 47. Lows near 45.
Wednesday (STORM WATCH): Periods of rain and windy, turning partly sunny. Highs near 53. Lows near 35.
