Rain showers continue overnight with cool temperatures near 64 degrees. It will be breezy at times with easterly winds gusting to near 25 mph.
Rain showers taper off Thursday morning with some sunshine and mostly cloudy skies expected for the afternoon. Highs near 74 degrees with gusty east northeast winds.
Conditions on our South Shore beaches will be rough with large waves, dangerous rip currents and the chance for coastal flooding with beach erosion.
The best chance for flooding will be in the evening at high tide with tides about 2 feet above normal and large waves of 10 to 15 feet.
Erin pulls away from the East Coast Thursday night into Friday with improving conditions. Our weather will turn beautiful with sunshine and warmer temperatures and highs near 80 degrees.
The next chance for rain comes early next week, with the chance for a spot shower or storm late during the day on Monday.

THURSDAY: Showers end in the morning with mostly cloudy skies for the afternoon. Breezy with highs near 74 degrees. Northeast winds 15 to 30 mph. Sunset: 7:41 p.m. Clearing skies at night with lows near 60. North winds up to 30 mph.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Warm with highs near 80. Lows near 65.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Warm with highs near 80. Lows near 68.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and nice with highs near 80. Lows near 67.
MONDAY: Partly sunny with the chance for a spot shower or storm late in the day. Highs near 82. Lows near 63.
TUESDAY: Nice with sun and clouds. Highs near 80. Lows near 60.
