Students at Hostos Community College are continuing the fight against new HIV infections a week after World AIDS Day.
The school hosted its World AIDS Day event Friday, a week after the actual date, and students and staff spent the day teaching others about HIV and AIDS prevention.
The school also offers free testing for STDs and is handing out condoms. The event taught about the dangers of unprotected sex and what people should do if they test positive.
The school has been hosting the event for 10 years. It has nurses on site every two weeks for testing, and nonstudents are allowed to participate.
