Local organizations teamed up to offer free haircuts by professional stylists to those in need at Hostos Community College Sunday.

The event featured stylists who work at high-end salons and are a part of the group Hair 4 Humanity, which recently traveled to Puerto Rico to volunteer in affected areas. 

Some residents at the event said that it was their first time receiving a haircut from a trained professional.

The Bronx Rox, an organization dedicated to empowering people from the Bronx, hosted the event.
