Sack Wern Houses residents: Gas has been shut off for more than 3 months

A group of residents at the Sack Wern Houses are fed up with current conditions in their building and say its been months since they've had gas.
Tenants say it's been months since they've had gas, heat and consistent hot water.
More than a dozen residents got together Monday to try and get the gas restored. NYCHA's outage map shows that the problem started back on July 9. Tenants say that's when it went from bad to worse.
Tenants say they were each given a single hot plate to cook on, and they say the heat is no longer working. They added that the hot water started being pumped over from another building across the courtyard. This is not only a safety hazard with the pipes and plywood rig, but it is also only giving them hot water for a minute or two at a time.
Con Edison tells News 12 that NYCHA must fix a pipe in the building before gas can be switched on. After repeated calls to NYCHA and with concerns growing as the weather gets colder, tenants say enough is enough.
Tenants say it's even more troubling with the holidays approaching. They hope that something can be done so they can make home-cooked turkey on Thanksgiving.
