A Mount Hope family had a close call Tuesday after a stray bullet pierced through their fifth-floor window.
A woman named Stephanie says the bullet shattered a hole through her family's living room window around 9 p.m.
She says her two children and their friend's were watching TV on the sofa when it happened.
"When the window broke, some of the glass fell on top of her," said Stephanie.
Stephanie says the bullet struck her TV and ended up under the couch. "Thank God it didn't hit one of the kids," said Stephanie.
Police say they do not believe the family was targeted, but that it was a random shot fired.
