Prosecutors in the trial of a teenager accused of fatally stabbing a classmate ended their case Wednesday with a bombshell admission on the witness stand from a student.

During cross examination, the student admitted to writing a 2017 Facebook message encouraging others to retaliate against Abel Cedeno after he was released on bail.

When asked by Cedeno's lawyer, "At the time you posted that, did you want Abel dead or hurt?" That student witness testified saying, "Yes" adding "I was angry...I had just lost my friend."

At one point during the hourlong testimony, the witness had to be excused from the stand after becoming very emotional just before she was about to describe what led up to the classroom stabbing saying, "Everything happened so fast."

The defense maintains that Cedeno was acting in self-defense when he fatally stabbed Matthew McCree and severely injured another student in history class at the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation in September 2017.

Cedeno's lawyers claim their client was the target of bullies because of his sexuality. But many of the students who testified last week told the court they really didn't know Cedeno until he allegedly brought a knife to school and stabbed two of their classmates, killing one of them.

The defense is scheduled to present its case Thursday morning with its main witness. Cedeno will also take the stand to testify.
