A new study finds the income in nearly half the households in the U.S. has taken a hit during the pandemic.
A survey from bankrate.com shows 42% of Americans say their income is still below what it was at the start of the pandemic.
Most of the declined earnings came from shutdowns, layoffs, or reduced hours.
The survey also showed 85% of working Americans are worried there will be lasting negative impacts to their incomes and are concerned of another financial hit in the months to come.
