The MTA says it is conducting more frequent air conditioning checks on subway cars across the boroughs.
As the city experiences near triple-digit temperatures, the MTA says it is working to ensure commuters have a cool, comfortable ride.
Representatives say the average car temperature is 72.5 degrees. News 12 tested the temperature of a D train car with an infrared thermometer and gauged 79 degrees.
Commuters said their ride was cool and the air conditioning was running strong.
The MTA says these checks are routine, but the agency will continue to conduct them more frequently as long as the temperatures remain this high.
