Cadets aboard the Empire State VII, SUNY Maritime College’s new vessel, were welcomed back on Saturday from a two-week voyage to Puerto Rico.

It was the maiden voyage for the new ship.

The next voyage for the cadets will be at the end of summer. They will head to Europe for a 70- to 75-day voyage.

News 12’s Brittany Cadet spoke with families who welcomed the sailors home.
