Teachers at Morrisania school prepare for 1st day of school
Teachers and administrators at United Charter High School for Advanced Math and Science II, formerly known as New Visions Charter, have been in the building the last few weeks, but Wednesday marked the final day of preparation as students are scheduled to begin their year Thursday.

Teachers News 12 spoke with said there’s plenty of work, and maybe even some stress in their preparation, but the arrival of students Thursday will provide a big boost of energy.
Yohany Lopez, a tenth-grade geometry teacher at United Charter, told News 12 that even as she begins her 10th year teaching math in the Bronx, a new year brings about plenty of new challenges.
NYC Public Schools will also open Thursday.
