Two local teachers took an evening away from their virtual classrooms and hosted a different kind of virtual get-together, all for a good cause.
On Thursday evening Samantha Gropper and Morgan Canarick swapped out virtual lessons with their students for friends, family and other community members old enough to use the oven.
They reached out to Canarick's stepmom and Pampered Chef consultant Robin Canarick to host a virtual party. People came together to share recipes, their favorite products, and Pampered Chef donated up to 30% of total sales to Feeding America.
Robin Canarick says the last fundraiser she hosted was so successful she was excited to be part of this one too.
"We did phenomenal. We raised over $4,000 and we were able to feed 1,200 people,” said Robin Canarick.
This was a chance to bring people together for some social interaction and exchange recipes during a time when so many people are relying on cooking.
The ladies are hoping their friends had fun and that maybe some of them will host virtual parties of their own to donate even more money to Feeding America and get more meals to those in need.
