Police say three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Mott Haven that left a 38-year-old woman seriously injured.

Investigators say the victim was struck by a stray bullet when gunfire erupted near East 143rd Street on Feb. 10. She was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Exclusive surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows a group of four teens — three boys and one girl — walking along East 143rd Street before splitting up. Moments later, police say one of the boys pulled a gun from the girl’s bag and opened fire toward a group across the street, sending people running for cover.

Detectives say two boys, ages 15 and 16, and a 16-year-old girl have now been arrested and charged with attempted murder. The fourth suspect remains at large.

Police say the person still being sought was last seen wearing a blue backpack and is believed to have been with the group at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information that could help police locate the remaining suspect is urged to call the Crime Stoppers hotline.
