Tenants at one building in Belmont tell News 12 their living conditions are horrible.
One tenant, Eileen Cintron, says the landlord knew about the issues, but hasn't helped. She showed News 12 the document from the Housing Preservation Development, which subsidizes her rent. They haven't paid the landlord all year because he failed to fix the apartment.
Since hearing of our reports, Cintron says her landlord is sending workers to fix some of the issues in her apartment.
News 12 reached out to the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development. They are urging anyone with pest issues to report to their landlord and then call 311 and file a complaint if the issues are not addressed.
