"The Batman" seems to be on track to be the next blockbuster film of 2022.
The movie took in $21.6 million on its opening night. It is currently on pace to make $100 million on its first weekend.
AMC Theatres is taking advantage of the hype by implementing what is being called “variable pricing” for the movie.
This means that moviegoers will have to pay more to see “The Batman” then some of the other movies running now.
It is something the theater chain does in Europe and is now trying in the United States.
The COVID-19 pandemic badly impacted the movie industry, with many theaters closed for months during the quarantine.
