News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen was joined this morning by Dr. Sharon Nachman to discuss masks, vaccines and our children.
There's confusion this morning whether children still need to wear masks at school and camp this summer. Dr. Nachman discusses the issues and confusion about masks:
What are the next steps that must be taken before the COVID-19 vaccinations for children 11 and under can be approved?
New COVID cases are dropping, but so is the rate of vaccinations. Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is pushing for more young people to get vaccinated amid increased hospitalizations in teens.
In the first three months of the year, CDC researchers found that nearly one-third of adolescents hospitalized with COVID-19 required admission into an intensive care unit and 5% needed invasive mechanical ventilation.
One-third of unvaccinated U.S. adults say they will only get in line for the COVID-19 vaccine once it's fully approved, but medical experts say it can also be risky to wait. What does it take to get full approval?
