A Brooklyn restaurant is in dire
need of support from the community as it faces closure at the end of the month.
Kirk and Shawana McDonald opened
The Southern Comfort in the summer of 2019, but less than two years in -
businesses took a hit due to the pandemic.
The owners say the pandemic, recent
spike in Omicron cases and supply chain issues have been a recipe for disaster.
The two say as their business is
struggling, they're now fighting to keep their doors open and launched a
GoFundMe in hopes of raising $40,000 by the end of the month.
Nearly $7,000 has been raised, but
if the restaurant doesn't reach its goal - it will close its doors for good.
