Members of the local Business Improvement District in Throggs Neck have many questions about the new mask mandate.

Specifically, they're concerned about how they will be able to tell who has been vaccinated or not, and the challenges that may bring.

"If the compliance rule is you have to wear a mask, and they don't have to, you don't have to serve them," said Bob Jean, Executive Director of the Throggs Neck BID. "If somebody comes in and they show their card ... we want the business owners, as long as they stay within the guidelines, to do what they have to do to make their businesses run on that day."

Restaurants in Throggs Neck have already begun to set up separate seating areas for fully vaccinated patrons.
