There is a new hockey league in the Bronx.

The Throggs Neck Hockey League offers
open hockey games to children aged 4-17 and will run from May 1 until June
26. 

Players practice every Sunday at Bufano Park and are taught
by coach Corey Levine,&nbsp; the coach and founder.

All right. Well, let's check back in now. We are dealing with this bitter blast still. We're checking in with teen meteorologist Scott Skoff. Now, Scott, you said today is not the end of these cold temperatures. I know it's the holiday season so I need to just get used to it. But man, yeah, there's a song that comes to mind. Follow la la la, la, la la oy because that's what we're looking at with colder temperatures. Even on the way into tomorrow, we're gonna be seeing these feels like temps staying in the twenties. But as we go to the end of the week, things are gonna be warmer but it comes with a catch rain is on the way, but those feels like temps can be the twenties all day long. So bundle up, keep yourself warm layer, have your jacket, your gloves, your scarf or hand warmers, reduce your time outside even with your furry friends too. Because as we go into the rest of the day today, we are going to be seeing these temperatures drop into the teens. That's what it's going to feel like for the start of your hump day tomorrow. So definitely even colder air ahead of us as we are looking at. Yes, a little bit of, I say it's snow. These have produced snow squall warnings over in northeast Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey. These snow showers are continuing to push on in towards us here in the city and you could even see those snow bands look to the north and west. This is a view from Kingsbridge and the Bronx. You can see those snow bands moving towards the city. So definitely the possibility is there towards the afternoon. I'm thinking between two and six o'clock in the afternoon, it's going to be some festive flakes, nothing accumulating but still be pretty to look at. And if you want to send your pictures in because it is going to be beautiful and by 67 o'clock should be done, we are going to be seeing that cold air come on and going to be in the twenties by the morning will feel like the teens and with that wind, that's going to be the big driving factor behind it. 20 to 30 mile per hour gusts through the rest of the day today and that will be lingering into tomorrow as well. So it's gonna be cold, it's going to be windy. It's gonna feel like the twenties even though the high temperature around 40 degrees with those blustery brisk winds gusts up to 30 MPH twenties overnight. But we feel like the teens because that breezy wind and all that cold air, the good news is we are going to be seeing that feels like temp go way up Thursday into the forties. So that's light at the end of the tunnel and then Friday fifties with the chance of rain. Same story, Sunday, Monday with milder temperatures as we enter the month of December on Friday.

Throggs Neck Hockey League debuts in the Bronx

welcome back and attention hockey teams out there, you're about to meet a new opponent well this team is just three weeks old, but they're already showing fierce competition and hard work, Look at them playing right there. Well, news travels Julio Avila caught up with them as they were playing their hardest at their new home in skylar ville. They may be a bit too young to play for the new york rangers, but not too young to play hockey. In fact, you're looking at the newest players of the throgs Neck hockey league so far. I mean the Children are having a blast, you know, you can see them out there smiling, laughing, having fun, cory Levin is the founder of the league, an avid hockey player himself. He says he wants to share that passion for hockey, not only as a sport but as something that helps kids develop. I started when I was a little kid and you know, some of my best friends are from hockey. So you know, it's something that, you know, I think in the future definitely is going to help them and growing and being part of something, an organization, a team or anything, it's better than sitting home and playing video games. So you know, I'm really happy that he's doing this. Michael pietro paolo says, two kids jake and Lorenzo are part of the league, but hockey is not the only sport they're into right now, they're playing baseball three times a week. The little one is in uh, t ball and my other son jake, he's playing three times a week, so you know, it's keeping them busy right now. The throgs Neck Hockey league is teaching them the fundamentals of the sport, including passing, keeping the puck or ball in this case and teamwork. They play matches against each other and against adults like Levin and his assistants instead of just staying on the sidelines. Levine coaches by playing along. And he says he hopes to soon play outside of this ring. I spoke to some of my friends outside the community here that have other organizations and we would like to set up some matches against them in some games. So we'll definitely set up some scrimmages in the future. We just want to continue developing the kids first. The throgs neck Hockey league practices every sunday morning at 10 here at Buffalo Park.
