Residents in Throgs Neck and the surrounding neighborhoods are calling on the 45th Precinct to take action against late night gatherings in Ferry Point Park.
News 12's cameras got an exclusive look at the chaos. Cameras were rolling as dozens of people lined the streets of the park and music blared through the speakers.
"I fear the lack of sleep. Because there's not much we can do until the police show up and disassemble these crowds," said Throgs Neck resident, John.
John said the gatherings raged all night, sometimes until sunrise.
Nearby residents reported hearing the music from miles away. Some even tell News 12 their houses shake during the parties.
Fifty five 311 noise complaints have been filed since the beginning of the year.
The NYPD told News 12 they are actively working to address the issue. They encourage residents to file 311 complaints as the disruptions continue.
John said he's taking matters into his own hands.
"Boots on the ground... I started going out there and finding these locations because I can't sleep and this is just not right," he said.
But Morris Park resident, Isaac, said the NYPD need to step in and take action.
"You need to impound the cars and destroy them. Destroy the speakers," said Isaac. "Train conductors, nurses and teachers are exhausted! People our lives depend on are exhausted."
News 12 returned to Ferry Point Park the morning after the gatherings took place. The parking lots were littered with garbage from the festivities.
"This is a park where kids from all over the Bronx come to enjoy. Practice football, baseball, basketball... and this is what they have to come to every morning after the parties. This isn't even as bad as I've seen. I've seen worse than this," said John,
News 12 reached out to the mayor's office to inquire about a solution and even suggested placing a "quality-of-life" team in the 45th Precinct to get the issue under control, but has yet to hear back.
